Oboy, what a day… and night.

Some days, are like that. Other days, are like THAT. Some showers, are like that…others……..

Typhone and storm out on Camotes Ilands on Thursday, and the whole night. No wi-fi. No FERRYS on Friday because of the storm. So what can you do? Just ask for room one more night and like the situation! Take your things to the pool and study the swallows in the sky. And, when the staff in the reception tell you that the ferry will come around ten o’clock Saturday morning, that feels good. And of course you believe them! What else can you do?!

Waking up six o’clock Saturday morning. All things already packed, because now the ferry will come. No more typhone and no more storm and no more rain. Hopefully!

Breakfast. The breakfast is like this. The American way. Kind of everywhere. Im not complaining, Im just longing for a breakfast at home. As simpel as that!

After breakfast, went to the reception with all my stuff. Im so early so it must be impossible to MISS that ferry.

– There will not be any fast ferry ten o’clock. Hen say.

What can you say? Yes, there WILL be a fast ferry ten o’clock??? Then you swim??? I try not to show that Im getting innoyed.

– But WHEN, then? I asked.

– We have no idea, about the fast ferry. But if you take a MC to the port, there will come a fast ferry.

Hm. Really? Some time, some day. You think.

– And the ordinary ferry then? I ask.

– Then you need to check the schedule, hen said.

It was a person between he and she. In the middle, or something. Very common in those neighbourhoods. Very nice pink lipstick, and so. But no boobs.

– And, which schedule is that? I asked.

Then hen came out from the reception trying to find out which schedule.

– This one, hen pointed. You need a MC now. And then hen started to talk to the guys outside. They had no lipstick so you could hope that they were guys. You never know. Hen talked to them and I understood nothing. Haven’t learn Filippino yet.

After the talk with the guys, hen said that there will not be any ferry before 17 o’clock.

– But the schedule, then? I asked.

– You can never trust a schedule, hen said.

Hahahahahaa. What can you do??? The time was VERY early, you have just checked out from your room, you have just took all your things all the way to the reception – lot’s of steps and a long way, if you understand. And even in the early morning, it wasn’t like a cool breeze out there. It was hot.

What can you do?! Sit down in the reception area. A nice place. With wi-fi. There were no wi-fi anywhere else at the hotel since the typhone. And, just wait until 15 o’clock or something, taking a cab to the port.

I started to Google on hotels on Mactan Island. The next step on the journey. Then the German lady came, we met in the restaurant two days ago. She was also up to leave on Saturday. She told me that she was leaving in a cab together with a young couple, Maria and her boyfriend. Maria was from Cebu, a very nice Filippin girl.

– But why do you want to wait for the ferry in the port, until 17 o’clock??? I asked her.

– There will be a ferry 12:30, she told me.

Hahahahaha. You can never trust a schedule. And, I started to think, that you can never trust the staff in the reception!

In about ten minutes, we had left from the hotel. Then the time was about 8:30. An open cab, like a small bus. Very nice. I could have taken a tour whole day long with that one. The sun was shining, no typhone, no rain! The Camotes Island was a very green island, very beautiful.

Soon we came to the port. A ferry was at the pier! We started to take our things, from the cab. Then the ferry left. Hahahaha. What can you do?! Just like the situation! The next ferry should be there 11:30, that was better than 13:30, so we didn’t complained at all. We bought something to drink, and sat down. Started to hunt all the flies. No breeze. Not a small movement in the air. Waiting waiting.

The ferry use to take two hours from Camotes to Danao. It took one and a half, so we didin’t complained!!

At Danao port, the buses are not allowed to stay in the harbour. Strange, but what can you say?! So we took two tricycles, and here they were without engines…so our guy had to work hard with all our luggage…woooow. And he took us to the taxi station. The line for a minivan was thaaaat long. The ordinary bus should take looooong time before coming to Mactan Island. So we discussed a little and shared a taxi, 200 Php per person. About 150 Swedish crowns for that drive. It took about three hours or something! It was Saturday, and rush hour. The traffic was something. Crazy crazy crazy. But I will miss it when Im back at home! It was exciting to watch the traffic in that rush hour on Saturday afternoon. Soooo many stops because of the traffic. Ambulances and polices, as well. Motorcycles, jeepneys, buses, heavy trucks – everybody driving like crazy. Wow.

About 16:30 – 17:00, finally in Cebu. Maria took us to a big mall in Cebu. There they had a travellers lounge. We could leave all our luggage, for 50 Php….. amazing! Everything very clean and nice and well organized. With guards checking your bags before entering the mall. No fireguns allowed 😉

It was an amazing mall. Through yourself against the wall, Mall of Scanidanivia….. In the taxi we talked about visiting a hairdresser, and Maria took us there. One hour later, my hair was cut and it was very very well done! 250 Php. Yeah. Ca 50 Swedish crowns. Maria and her boyfriend went to the dentist. And the barbershop. I went to the pharmacy. I searched for wet napkins with alcohol but that was something they didn’t had. But they had other useful things, as you can see on my pic 👍😀👏 Im getting very bad of all those mosquito bites. You can’t hear the mosquitos and you can’t feel when they bite you. And the same mosquito bite you three times… Bad.

We tried not to shop, I mean it’s difficult to pack everything anyway!!! But it would have been very very VERY easy to spend a day in that mall! Lot’s of interesting and exciting stores. And, beeing in that mall, was a strange experience thinking about that outside the city, and travelling as I have been for some weeks now, it’s very hard to understand that suddenly you can walk around in that kind of mall. Lot’s of poeple outside the city and even in the middle of the city, don’t have houses to live in… so that was a strange feeling walking around in the luxuary mall.

A very good advice while travelling around in Thailand and the Filippines, is to bring toilet paper. And take the upportunity to take some extra if there is toiletpaper somewhere. I needed to do number two and went to a toilet. The very well organized mall, but, the paper was finished. Lucky me bringing some extra! ”- I’m sorry, mam”, the girl in the resting room said. They always have poeple around, everywhere. And what can you say?! Bring it with you!

Well, about seven o’clock, we said goodbye to Maria and her boyfriend and started to find back to the travellers lounge. We had to ask three times, before we found it. A big mall… Then the rain had started again. So we sat down for a while. A guard came forward and asked us if we had the card to buy bus tickets. No. And we realized that Maria had talked about it. You have to buy a card for 200 Php to be able to buy bus tickets. Yeah. My German friend didn’t had so much money left, she were up to leave Cebu on Monday, and had counted the money she had left. So we talked about what we could do instead of taking a bus. But the guard told us, that there were no cab, the line was…kind of long, and it was Saturday evening, no availbale cabs, so there was just the option to take a bus.

Then Maria and her boyfriend came! We think she was an angel! She walked out in the rain, and bought tickets for us! And we said goodbye, again! Very nice couple!

And, now we had tickets for the bus so we went out to the bus. Maria had given us a description how to get to the hotel. Take the bus to the grab station, and there, take a grab taxi, to the hotel. We tried to understand what a grab taxi was, but I didn’t understood it. But it was a great thing, because the line for an ordinary cab, was about hundred meter long. We waited about 15 minutes, and had to pay 217 Php, a fixed price for a grab taxi. Very great! The driver wasn’t sure about the way to the hotel, Express Inn, at Mactan. So lucky for us, the prize was fixed!

Finally, at the hotel. I think that was about 20:00….and we started to travel a out 09:00….. that’s the Filippino way to travel. Whenever you start to go from A to B, it takes a whole day.

And, there are showers, and there are SHOWERS. After almost twelve hours travelling this was THAT shower. You know what I mean?!

Do you know why that have air condition in every room here…????  Because outside, they have the chicken farm. If you will be able to fell asleep, and, don’t woke up all the time, you need to put the air condition on the highest level and then you can’t hear the chickens. Then you getting tired of the noice from the air condition and fell asleep. Yeah! Right!

I asked my German friend, if she thought there would be chickens on the backyard at the hotel. As a joke. But. There are chickens at the backyard. Of course! I woke up 03:00 and. The chickens was cackling terribly, more loudly then the highest level on the air condition!

Oboy what a day. And night! Now the time is 05:41. Good moooorning, out there!
